Ben's Comments

"A really disappointing and very frustrating weekend. We made quite a few changes to the bike across the weekend and tried a number of different settings but nothing seemed to give me the confidence that I was looking for from the machine. I qualified well down the field and although I managed to get a pretty good start in Race 1, I knew that I wouldn't be able to hold off the guys that were able to lap quicker than me for very long. It was Race 2 that really made a difference for me though! Although I got a pretty bad start and was way back to start off, I actually learnt a lot about the way that the bike needs to be ridden and started to find some momentum. I worked my way back past a few of the guys in front of me, even managing to just get one of them into the final corner. Although the final result wasn't a great one, I actually came off the track feeling pretty happy that I'd found something positive to take forward and I'm fairly optimistic that I can really start to progress up the field now. The biggest change needs to come from me and the way that I'm riding the bike, so we aren't going to change much going into the next round and I just want to get my head down and concentrate on making sure I'm riding the thing the way that it needs to be ridden! Fingers crossed, I think we may have turned a corner now!"
