Ben back in BSB paddock for 2011

Ben will return to the British Superbike paddock for the 2011 season after taking a year out of motorcycle racing. When asked about his time on the spent away from the sport last year Ben commented…

"It was pretty tough. I didn't have a particularly brilliant end to the 2009 season on the KTM (in the KTM RC8 Supercup) as I damaged my ankle in a big crash at Brands Hatch and never really felt like I'd clicked with the bike all year. I was happy to see the end of that year to be honest and I guess it drained some of my motivation to go racing last year. We tried to get the funding together but when it didn't happen I decided that a year out might be a good thing for me. That changed as soon as I was sat at home watching the first round on my TV! I wanted to be out there so bad and knew that it was going to be a very long and frustrating season away from the sport"

"I had one or two things which unfortunately became a distraction during the early part of last year and once they were out of the way it was too late to get out there. You have to be 100% committed in this sport and I wasn't at that time. I planned to use my time away from racing wisely - get on with a few bits at home, go on a couple of holidays, spend more time with my friends and family and generally relax a bit… but none of it really happened! I just ended up wanting to go racing again and it made me even more determined to get back out there this year!"

Ben is now planning to be back racing again this year and he hopes to be able to announce his plans for this season shortly…

"I'm in the final stages of sorting out a couple of deals which should hopefully see me back in the British Superbike paddock this year. I don't believe that you've seen the best of me yet and it's important that I give myself the best opportunity to showcase my talent. I hope to be able to let you know more over the coming weeks".
