"Well thats not exactly how I'd hoped to start this season. We took delivery of the bike pretty late and didnt get much time on it before coming to Brands Hatch for the first round, so I think that combined with the fact that I sat last year out (so felt a little rusty) probably hasn't helped us that much. The bike felt pretty good when I did get out on it pre-season but thats on a track day and you aren't riding at race pace. Once I started to push it a bit harder this weekend it quickly became clear that it wasn't set-up as well as we'd hoped. We changed the gearing for qualifying and I don't think it really helped that much and then in the first race my transponder fell off at the first corner (hence no speed traps). I'm disappointed with the results because I genuinely believe that I can run towards the front of this class event though it seems to be a very competitive field. We'll make a couple of changes before we head up to Oulton Park next weekend where I'll be looking to improve on these results" |
